Late Pass: Cool Iris

I'm always late to the party. Whatever, at least I showed up. Cool Iris is a web browser plug in that makes many things on your computer more dynamic. Pretty slick. A nice way to get some movement into a design presentation w/o doing any work other than installing the software. Work smarter, not harder.

Clay Marzo: Just Add Water

Was watching E:60 tonight, which happens to be my newest vice and there was a story about Clay Marzo and how him having Asperger syndrome makes him a better surfer. Rad. Apparently there's to be a movie about him called 'Just Add Water', not to be confused with the Yale comedy troupe. I know nothing about surfing other than a) it looks easy but I'm told it's quite difficult kinda like golf, skateboarding, making pants, etc. and b) I really want to learn one day. As an ignoranmous, it looks like he's pretty out of his mind on that board. He looks like a superhero up there or something ... defying the laws of physics and whatnot.

The End,

Virgin post: 13" MacBook Pro

Hello all,

I know nobody's listening just yet ... fine with me. I just wanted to toss something up from my new Macbook. Really diggin' this keyboard, smooth as silk. I also enjoy how much the black bezel makes the screen that much more vibrant.

So I've been talking with my friend and fmr. kickass intern, Daniel Bailey about his blog Monkee Design . Inspired by his perspective on design, it got me to thinking about a series of interviews or dialogs I want to have with him thru his blog and mine. I'm looking forward to it.

I've also been trying to think of what to call my blog other than "There Are No Facts". I first heard that from Saul Williams (5 senses) but wanted to determine its true origin. Friedrich Nietzsche. I've heard the name and know nothing about him. Thanks to Unkle Wiki, now I do.

I've am seriously considering changing to it 'G.' or Gpoint or gPoint. Something like that. The idea started as a stupid play on words. I remember really understanding drawing on at a new level when I finally figured out that my friend Nick Womeldorff was drawing these furniture sketches in three point perspective instead of two point perspective. Obvious now, but at the time, I just couldn't quite see it. I feel like I have moments like that frequently now and I really like it. So my blog is about those moments and sharing that with whoever cares. I haven't found a blog like that so I figured I'd write it myself and see what happens. So anyways, I figured I'd call it G-point perspective or Gpoint for short. Whaaaaaatever. Everybody likes a story. Ok, well, designers do. I suppose the average joe does as well. That's why we watch movies.

So, I like Gpoint as well b/c the blog is very much about me talking about the things I see. A running record. An online journal. It'll be fun, if nothing else, to look back in a year or 5 or 10 and see how I thought about things and what I liked, loved and hated, etc. So, points are dots. This is me connecting the dots. Or at least laying them out to be connected later.

And anyone who knows me knows that I like to make my point (right, wrong or ignorant). Let's see if I can't get that done.

Enough!
I'll write a better description of what I want the blog to be at a later date.

-G!
